Swiftalk policy
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Swiftalk Limited collects and uses personal information when you use Swiftalk.com, our mobile apps, and related social, messaging, community, server, and support features (together, “Swiftalk”).
1. Who is responsible for your information
Swiftalk Limited is responsible for the personal information described in this policy when it determines why and how that information is used. Questions about privacy, this policy, or your information can be sent to support@swiftalk.com.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information. When you create or manage an account, we collect information such as your email address, phone number if you provide one, account identifier, username, display name, date-of-birth or age information where requested, authentication and verification status, profile image, banner, biography, links, interests, settings, and preferences.
Content and communications. We process content you choose to submit, including posts, comments, replies, Shorts, photos, videos, captions, server and community activity, direct messages, attachments, reports, and support requests. We also process feature metadata such as dates, visibility, recipients, reactions, saves, shares, moderation status, and the information needed to deliver notifications.
Technical and usage information. We may receive device, browser, operating-system, app version, language, IP address, cookie or local-storage identifiers, request logs, crash reports, performance information, and security events. This helps us operate the service, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, and protect accounts.
Purchases. If you use paid features, we process the product, platform, transaction or order reference, entitlement, subscription status, and relevant refund or support history. Card and payment credentials are handled by the applicable payment provider or app store; Swiftalk does not ask you to send us card numbers.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and administer accounts; provide feeds, messaging, communities, servers, calls, posts, media, notifications, and paid features; respond to you; personalise settings and relevant content; maintain service reliability; and develop, test, and improve Swiftalk.
We also use information to secure the service, verify accounts, enforce our rules, investigate reports, detect fraud, spam, harmful content, and other misuse, protect users, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use the contents of private communications for advertising.
4. Our legal bases
Where UK or EEA data-protection law applies, we use personal information when it is necessary to provide the service you request or perform our contract with you; to comply with a legal obligation; to protect vital interests; with your consent where required; and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and defending Swiftalk, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
5. When information is visible or shared
Your profile, posts, comments, community activity, and other content may be visible to other people according to the audience, feature, and settings you select. Do not post personal information that you do not want others to see or share. Direct messages are intended for the participants and are delivered through our service providers; access may be limited by the feature’s security design and applicable law.
We share information only where needed to run Swiftalk: with providers that support hosting, storage, authentication, notifications, crash diagnostics, customer support, and payments; with app stores or payment providers for transactions; with other users when you choose to share or publish information; and with advisers, authorities, or other parties where required by law or necessary to protect people, rights, or the service. We may also share information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
6. International transfers
Swiftalk and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where a transfer is subject to applicable transfer rules, we use an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual protections, where required. You can ask us for further information by contacting support.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Retention depends on the type of information, the feature, and the context. We may retain limited information after account closure where necessary for these purposes or as permitted by law.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
You can update some account, profile, notification, and privacy settings in Swiftalk. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal information, and to object to particular processing. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it; this will not affect processing already carried out before withdrawal.
Right to object. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object by contacting us. We will stop that processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or need the information for legal claims. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password, keep your devices secure, and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Children and safety
Swiftalk is not intended for anyone who is below the minimum age required to use the service where they live. We may use age and safety information to apply age-appropriate settings, investigate reports, and protect younger users. If you believe a child has provided information in breach of applicable requirements, contact us at support@swiftalk.com.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy here and change the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or ask for consent before a material change takes effect.
